The Company

The Wisteria Group is made up of Wisteria Limited a firm of Chartered Tax Advisers and Wisteria Audit Ltd a firm of Chartered Accountants and registered auditors based in North West London.  We provide a wide range of services to businesses and individuals, mainly either in the London area or international businesses operating in the UK.  The firm has been well established trading for 18 years and has approximately 20 staff and has seen significant year on year growth.

The successful candidate will be working as part of an accounts production team of up to 5 people. The firm is well established and has seen significant year on year growth which continues to be the firm’s short-term and long-term strategy.

The Role

The role offers the opportunity to work within a small accountancy practice based in Pinner, North West London. The primary responsibility of the Accounts Senior Manager is to ensure the successful preparation of a large portfolio of the financial statements within the accounts production team through close partnership with the external client.

You will work in the accounting department and you will work closely with the Partner in preparing, supervising, reviewing and the approval of financial statements produced by the team (and produced by yourself when necessary). You will be responsible for the direct oversight and management of a team of up to 5 accountants (being a mixture of Managers, Fully qualified and Trainees). You will be responsible for the on-the-job training of the entire team and the delivery of the accounts production assignments across the entire client portfolio. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of interesting businesses and help provide a great client service.

Specifically, under the guidance of the Partner, the Accounts Senior Manager will lead all activities related to the planning and delivery of the accounts production for the entire client portfolio and ensure that client relationships are well maintained, pro-actively manage communications internally and externally, ensure all delivery deadlines are met and offer improvement opportunities, develop plans and drive projects forward. Career-progression will be supported for the right candidate.

  • Head-up and oversee the operations of the Accounting Department reporting directly to the Partner
  • Maintain chain of command throughout department
  • Supervise work performed in the Accounting Department, including Managers, Fully qualified and Trainees
  • Plan and organise own work in a rapidly changing and technical environment
  • Process company financial data efficiently and effectively
  • Enforce policies and procedures
  • Produce and review financial statements using CaseWare software
  • Plan and budget projects, whilst driving efficiencies
  • Co-ordinate efforts across departments where necessary
  • Assign projects between accounting staff members
  • Set and manage the schedule for accounting department assignments
  • Supporting the roll-out of new applications or updates where necessary
  • Business development activities and ability to generate new opportunities


  • Qualifications:
    • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA qualified) must have at least 2 years’ experience acting as a line
      manager for junior team members in public practice.
    • Experience of managing a team of at least 3 people.
    • Strong project focus including attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
    • Ability to prioritise and work in a highly dynamic, fast paced and team-orientated environment.
    • Excellent numerical, written and verbal communication skills in English
    • CaseWare accounts production skills would be beneficial.
    • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
